About this Tool

This tool uses the pdf-lib JavaScript library to add page numbers to your PDF file entirely within your browser.

  • How it works:
    1. Upload your PDF. The tool shows the total page count.
    2. Select the position, format, starting number, font size, and optionally specify which pages to number (e.g., 2-5, 8). Leave blank to number all pages.
    3. Click "Add Page Numbers". The tool reads your original PDF.
    4. It creates a **new PDF**, copying all original pages.
    5. For each page designated to be numbered, it calculates the correct text (like "Page 3 of 10") and draws it onto the page at your chosen position.
    6. A download link for the new, numbered PDF is provided.
  • Privacy: Your PDF file is never uploaded to a server.
  • Encrypted Files: Cannot process password-protected or encrypted PDFs.
